When you apply to retain a registration number (see form above), and your application is approved, you will receive a V778 Retention Document. This will give details of the registration number held on retention.

The V750 Certificate of Entitlement is similar to the V778 Retention Document. It indicates the rights to assign the specified registration number to a vehicle. The registration number can be assigned to a vehicle owned by either the Purchaser or Nominee named on the document. | |||

If you are retaining or transferring a personal registration number, and the vehicle needs to be re-licensed (i.e. renew the tax disc) you will need to complete a V10 Vehicle License Application form.

If you are applying to transfer a personal registration number or retain a personal registration number, and you only have the V5/2 or V5C/2 portion of your Registration Document, you will need to complete a V62 Application for Registration Certification as well as the appropriate form (see above). | |||
