Will you swap my private number plate for another?
Sometimes.
If you have a dateless registration number, or one with a 3-letter name (such as SUE or JON) we may consider a swap or part-exchange. Please ask us if it's something we would consider, and tell us the registration number you have.
You must also tell us the registration number you are interested in.
Sorry but we are not able to offer this for all registration numbers. We will look at each one on a case-by-case basis.
Alternatively you can advertise your private number plate for sale.
Why don't you swap all number plates?
We will only accept certain registration numbers for our stock. We look at each request individually, including the one that you wish to buy.
If yours is one that fits within the type of registration number we want to add to our stock we will make you an offer.
Will you offer a part-exchange instead of a swap for my number plate?
Sometimes we may offer a part-exchange instead of a straight swap. When we consider your request, we will advise you of the details of the offer. It's up to you whether you choose to accept the offer.
If we agree a swap, what happens then?
The next step depends on specific circumstances. For instance, whether the registration number you wish to sell is on a car or on a Certificate. If we agree a swap or exchange, we will give you specific instructions on what needs to happen next.
How long will it take?
That depends.
An offer made to you will stand for 14 days. All offers would be reviewed after this time.
Depending on circumstances, it can take from 2-8 weeks for everything to be processed. Lots of factors can affect the time taken. You have our assurance that we will process everything as quickly as we can, so that you can have your new registraiton number as soon as possible.
Will you just buy my number plate if I don't want to swap?
If you have made a request for a swap or part-exchange, any offer we make will be based on that. If you change your mind and just want to sell, we will review the offer from scratch. We cannot guarantee that you will receive the same value as the original offer for exchange.
