Current style (sometimes known as New style) number plates were first issued in Sept 2001. They're issued in March and September each year. In general, because current style registrations are released twice each year, there are lots of similar number plates available.

If the last 3 letters of a current style number plate are simple initials, then it is likely to sell for a very low price (probably less than £100). and take some time to sell.
